Tanya Cruz: Singer, Dancer & Actress

Tanya Cruz is an experienced children's entertainer and teacher. She was Director of the Voice and Theater Department at J&L Dance Center, and has taught dance at the Triple Threat Program at Memorial High School in West New York, NJ. She has choreographed musicals at Cliffside Park High School. She is a graduate of Westminster Choir College of Rider University, with a BA in Musical Theater. Tanya has performed in the off-Broadway play, Moses 2005, has appeared on the pilot tv shows, Life on Mars and the Unusuals, and recently modeled for Latina Magazine. She has appeared on films such as Muneca and Yelling To The Sky. She has also performed with professional dance companies such as Signatura, Descarga Latina, and with world renowned professional salsa dancer Garry Portugal.
Tanya has trained students who are active artist in the field. Among her former voice students is Millie Novak, currently a recording artist and also a cast member of Billiot Elliot on Broadway. She was also vocal and acting coach to Matthew Martinez of Kids Bop. She also trains professional rappers, r&b singers, and musical theater talent. King Swag, Tyler Griffin, and Justin Love.
Her students have won title awards at Access Broadway competitions. Among these are Sabrina Santiago, Maddie Novak, and Sarah Bombino. All talented singers and actress who have transcended their voices to be heard and followed.
"My hope is for every young talented student to become knowledgeable in the field as young as possible. It took me years to know what I know now and I feel that with today's competition we are expected to compete as soon as we can walk. The web auditions and youtube stars are rising and we need to help our youth compete in this new pool of talent that exists today.
